Position Description

Scientist, Department of Radiation Oncology and Odette Cancer Program, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Sunnybrook Research Institute, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is seeking applications for a scientist position.

Expertise is sought in MRI-Imaging with experience in chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) and magnetization transfer (MT) imaging for glioma and prostate cancer research. MRI-Hardware development and/or methodological expertise in tumour identification/tracking and therapy response monitoring is required. Experience in multi-modal (MRI, Ultrasound, PET) and multi-parametric imaging (CEST, MT, DCE, DWI) in addition to image processing and analysis experience, is also desired. The successful candidate will develop a translational research program in radiation treatment related sciences spanning pre-clinical and clinical interests. The department is equipped with infrastructure consisting of several 1.5T and 3T and pre-clinical 7T MRI scanners and is investing in MR-HIFU and MR-Linac technology about which programmatic research activities are centered.

A successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. and be qualified for appointment in the Physical Sciences Platform, Sunnybrook Research Institute and minimally at the level of Assistant Professor in the department of Medical Biophysics or in another appropriate department at the University of Toronto, through which she/he will be eligible for appointment to the School of Graduate Studies.

The position is a renewable 3-year term appointment consistent with non-tenured scientist positions at Sunnybrook Research Institute. The expected start date is April 2019.
