Hey everyone, I'm Gerd, a 2nd year MSc student, and I'm running for Downtown VP this year for the MBPGSA! This past year, I was your first year rep, where along with Yu, we hosted multiple events including a pub social and a picnic on the Toronto Islands. I really enjoyed bringing the MBP community together through these events, and I'd love to keep that going. As VP, I want to open easier lines of communication between students and faculty, making it simpler for students to voice concerns on things like rotations and issues with supervisors. I also want to lobby the department to reweigh certain high-workload MBP courses from 0.25 to 0.5 credits, giving students more time to focus on their research. Finally, I'll push the department to make scholarship feedback and rankings, like those for OGS, available to students so they can write stronger applications. Vote for Gerd!

Hey MBP! I’m Ana, a third-year PhD student and your current Uptown Vice President! Since joining MBP, I’ve been actively involved with the GSA and its committees – from planning socials and retreats to serving as Eco Team Co-Chair and organizing Swap Shops, Earth Day contests, movie nights, and more. As Vice President, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside our Executive Team to advocate for students and strengthen connections across our Uptown and Downtown communities. Now, I’m excited to build on that experience as a candidate for President! If elected, I’ll continue advocating for student needs, addressing financial concerns, strengthening student-supervisor relationships, and creating more opportunities to connect across MBP. I’m also currently organizing our 2026 merch sale, so stay tuned! I’d be honoured to continue representing you and help make MBP an even stronger, more supportive, and connected community!

Hi everyone! My name is Yu, and I’m excited to be running for Treasurer. Having served as a First Year Representative, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to our graduate student community, connect with fellow students, and help organize initiatives that bring us together. I would love to continue contributing to MBP in a new capacity.
As Treasurer, I will be committed to managing our finances responsibly, transparently, and efficiently. I understand that careful budgeting and accurate record-keeping are essential to ensuring that our events and initiatives remain accessible, sustainable, and beneficial to students. I am organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with numbers, and I will work closely with both the Downtown and Uptown Executives to support the financial needs of our community.

Hailey Stack
Hi MBP! I'm Hailey, and I'm excited to run for Downtown Social Representative again this year. This past year, I have worked with our Downtown Social Committee, organizing monthly social events to help engage and connect students within the Department. I've enjoyed getting to know people across the department, and hearing directly what kind of events people actually want to see more of.
If elected, I'll continue building a fun, welcoming, and connected downtown community through engaging social events, while staying responsive to what students are looking for. I'm passionate about creating a strong sense of belonging for all MBP students, no matter their year or lab. Thanks so much for your support, I'd love the chance to keep this momentum going!
Keheng (Tina) Wang
I’m Tina (Keheng) Wang, and I’m currently a second-year MSc student in the Hope Lab at Downtown ASMIL. During my undergraduate studies, I was part of the Student Life/Social Committees of two student associations, where I gained experience planning and coordinating a variety of social events. Last year, I also had the opportunity to serve as the MBPGSA Downtown Social Representative. Together with the social committee team, we organized various events throughout the year, including the Halloween Party, Holiday Party, St. Patrick’s Day, and our monthly Last Wednesday of the Month events.
This year, I’m eager to continue in this position and build on what I learned over the past year to make our events even more engaging and enjoyable.
